Optimizes audio quality and saves battery
- Internal equalizer: Adjusts bass and treble to compensate for FM interference or weak data streams.
- Streaming buffer: When streaming online, increase the buffer size (Audials, TuneIn) to avoid interruptions on unstable networks.
- FM offline mode: When using an FM app that uses the internal chip, turn off mobile data to save battery life.
- Screen brightness: reduces brightness or activates dark mode in the app to minimize consumption.
- Closing background apps: After saving stations, close other active processes to free up RAM and power.
- Wired headphones: They function as an FM antenna; keeping them attached to your phone improves the signal.
Good practices for continuous use
- Update frequently: Check the app store to install tuning patches and new features.
- Periodic re-scanning: Perform a quick scan every time you change zones or at least weekly to pick up new stations.
- Try different locations: Sometimes a simple 90° turn of the phone or moving it closer to a window improves FM reception.
- Manage the favorites list: Remove outdated stations and add emerging broadcasts to keep your dial fresh.
- Save key recordings: Store important programs or news and clean up old files every month to free up space.
